vining sweet peas
I've always loved the way pea vines grow. They blindly shoot out their little tendrils until they find something to grab, and then pull themselves up and up and up. I find it both optimistic and opportunistic.
My pea vine sculptures always have a trellis that serves to support the long thin stalks. The white flowers and green pods work very well together, the effect of these glowing slowly on and off is a bit dreamy. And yet something about that green is also somewhat foreign and probably inspired their original moniker: space peas.
